We have some BIG news! Last night the man servant went on the front porch to shine a spotlight on the feeding station to check for raccoons and foxes and guess who was on the porch?! GRETCHEN!!! Of course, she took off when he walked out there. I think they were both startled! PROGRESS!!!!!!

It's Monday already?

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
We did a lot of napping this weekend while the servants were busy. They trapped 4 kitties Friday night for Saturday's clinic. The clinic was for 10-15 cats, but the trapping teams were only able to get 8. Two of the kitties are in our pink room for post-op and will be released this afternoon. Their names are June Bug and Lenora and they are both young females. No kittens for them, yay!Gretchen has come by for food every night around 10:00 or 11:00pm! We think she is living in the culvert between our yard and the next door neighbor. The servants are able to stay out on the porch and talk to her while she eats and she doesn't run away! We just wish she would hang out longer or even eat during the day, but she's still not that comfortable yet.

Wordy Wednesday - Look Who Came For Dinner

This kitty could seriously be Maya's long lost sibling. No, really, he could. Maya and his sis Chevelle were found abandoned at an old horse stable in our neighborhood, not far from where we live about 10 years ago. The horse stable had a lot of cats, but it seemed the momma didn't want Maya and Chevelle and they were not in good shape. The horse stable is no longer and we don't know what happened to all the cats because we weren't living here when it was torn down. Perhaps the cats dispersed throughout the neighborhood and surrounding areas?

This mystery kitty looks just like Maya! We've never seen it during the day, and we have no clue where it lives. Apparently, it hangs out with a raccoon because they were caught on the camera around the same time. The mystery black cat also hangs out with a raccoon. Yay for friendly raccoons!

Loving this trail/game camera that my friend loaned me! We've ordered one of our own and it should be here by the end of the week. As for Gretchen, the plan is to just keep monitoring her with the camera. I don't think there is going to be another trapping. That would be trapping number 4 for her and I don't think that's going to happen in a metal trap. She isn't around enough to use the drop trap again. If she stays around here and eats, that will be great and she will hopefully build trust and come around more and more. She is still in a much safer place than she was before. But, she probably feels like I'd feel if I were dropped in the middle of Egypt without a map or wallet. This is foreign territory to her. We need your continued purrs and positive thoughts for her, they always work!

Movie Monday - The Crazy Cat, Cat Quest

The nice people at Fucini Productions sent us a Crazy Cat Cat Quest to try and review on our blog. Wow, this was so much fun! Wanna see how much fun it was? Watch our video...

The Cat Quest is battery operated, so the wings on the dragonfly flap like a real bug. It's makes a cool noise, too! The Cat Quest retails for $9.99-11.99 and it's soooo worth it! We thoroughly enjoyed reviewing this toy and we highly recommend it to our friends!

Guess What, Guess What???

These pictures were taken around 11:26pm last night. The servants had seen her about an hour before. She was hiding in the small line of trees and brush separating our yard from our next door neighbor. We've included a few other random shots we've gotten too.

Not Too Good

Hi All! We have some not too good news about Gretchen....she escaped the relocation pen. The servants are baffled as to how she did it, but she pulled a Houdini! There have been a few sightings of her by neighbors, but they are not confirmed (the lady hasn't seen her for herself). The servants have set up a field camera that takes infrared pictures when it detects motion and they've put it at the feeding station under our porch. They haven't captured her on it, but have captured a few other creatures eating the sardines, fried sea mullets and cat food. The lady is working on finding the owner of the black cat in the picture. Tonight they will move the feeding station and camera to a location near the creek where she may have been sighted. Hopefully, the black cat and raccoon won't find the food before she does.Black mystery kittyRaccoon

A thrasher?

The good news is, Gretchen is much safer here than she was at her only colony location and she is a highly skilled hunter. All of the neighbors are helping keep an eye out for her and she has been reported missing on homeagain.com, the microchip service. Flyers have been distributed to nearby neighbors and on telephone poles.

We need you all to send your best purrs and wishes that she will come back here very soon. Your purrs helped her get trapped, now we need those purrs to bring her back home. Please be assured the servants are doing everything in their power to bring her back home.

Monday, Monday

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great weekend! Hope all the mom's had a wonderful Mother's Day!

The lady's TNR group raised $1180.00 at the yard sale on Saturday! YAY!Gretchen is starting to come around a little. She didn't eat for 3 days after being trapped, vetted and transferred to the enclosure. She is so frightened and just doesn't understand what is going on. The man took his mom out to eat on Saturday to one of our fine local seafood restaurants and brought home some leftover bluefish and shrimp for Gretchen. She ate it all!! We hope she starts feeling more comfortable with her new surroundings very soon. At least she has moved out from behind the toolbox and has gotten in her dogloo. That is major!! And the servants can get in the enclosure with her and rub her. She seems very sweet, just very scared. Oh and by the way..... Gretchen was microchipped at her appointment last week, just in case she becomes our garden cat.

Hallelujah

Well, the wishes of good luck and purrs worked! The lady and man drop trapped "Gretchen" formerly known as "Necklace" yesterday afternoon!! It was day 6 and they were getting highly frustrated. Nothing was working. Not KFC, tuna, jack mackerel, sardines, anchovies, herring, cat nip, fancy feast appetizers etc.... Ya know what did work? FRIED BLUE FISH!!! The man fried him up some blue fish the night before and saved her two fillets. She couldn't resist!

This morning she goes to the vet for her rabies re-vaccination and exam. She will then be transferred from the trap into her relocation enclosure!

Wordless Wednesday with Rambler

Happy Monday, friends!We had a great birthday and we appreciate everyone who came by to help us celebrate. Check out the yummy cake our servants got. We had some nibbles and it was yummy. Don't worry, we didn't eat any of the chocolate.

We need some help. Our servants spent all weekend trying to trap "Necklace" you may remember her from the video we posted last month. Well, she is the only remaining kitty in that colony (very sad story involving other wildlife). The servants are trying to save her and move her into our relocation enclosure. They will then be able to access her temperament and determine if she is an adoption candidate. If she is too feral, she will become our "garden cat." She came really close to the drop trap, but she is still too wary. They've tried lots of different bait....tuna, jack mackerel, herring, sardines, anchovies, kfc chicken, catnip, fancy feast appetizers..... Problem is she has already been trapped twice (spay/neuter and revax), once with the metal trap and once with the drop trap. It's just gonna take some time it seems.This crow would have been easy to trap!

Please send lots of positive vibes and somehow will her into that trap so she can be brought to safety. They will be trying everyday until they get her.
