Monday, Monday

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great weekend! Hope all the mom's had a wonderful Mother's Day!

The lady's TNR group raised $1180.00 at the yard sale on Saturday! YAY!Gretchen is starting to come around a little. She didn't eat for 3 days after being trapped, vetted and transferred to the enclosure. She is so frightened and just doesn't understand what is going on. The man took his mom out to eat on Saturday to one of our fine local seafood restaurants and brought home some leftover bluefish and shrimp for Gretchen. She ate it all!! We hope she starts feeling more comfortable with her new surroundings very soon. At least she has moved out from behind the toolbox and has gotten in her dogloo. That is major!! And the servants can get in the enclosure with her and rub her. She seems very sweet, just very scared. Oh and by the way..... Gretchen was microchipped at her appointment last week, just in case she becomes our garden cat.

LOL, sounds like Gretchen has a new home. That is so great. She likes that blue fish.
Listen, I need some of that blue fish. The one and only cat here that I cannot catch, has a growth on her ear that looks a lot like cancer and I need to get her to the vet. I can pat her on her neck and I tried to scruff her this morning to put her in the carrier, and she got away. So now I am starting over. She is like Gretchen, she knows about that carrier. I might try some shrimp.
Glad Gretchen is coming around and glad that the man took the woman out to eat. Very nice of him.
Have a great week.

We've got Nigel working on some extra special purrs for Gretchen....he too was so scared when he was first caught and it took him months to settle down. Now he's a big ol' purr ball.

We are happy she is safe and healthy.

We are so happy to hear this news about Gretchen! And that feast she endured??? WOW~! She's not going to want to go anywhere!

Hmmmm, we think Gretchen may have heard the "stew pot" rumor that Scouty heard. It'll take time and she'll realize where that yummy fish is coming from!

RE: spraying--Our vet has prescribed "Clomicalm" 5 mg for Maui's territorial spraying. It's made for dogs, but we've had excellent results with it...in male cats. Females, not so much. The downside is he DOES act a little doped; but it's that or the aggressive sprayer.
Usually 6 weeks has done the trick for us. We have an intact male roaming around (gonna "fix" that!)that's riled Maui up and he started spraying again this spring after almost a year of being a good boy.

This is all great news! Gretchen must already know she has lucked into something, after that dinner of bluefish and shrimp! It'll take time, of course, but it sounds like she will gradually adjust. Your humans are kind, patient people and I think she senses that.

Sheesh! Gretchen, I know exactly what you are going through - When I got to my forever home I was so scared I ran from everyone! My Mom was very patient & let me come to her on my own terms, I'm forever grateful for that!

Sounds like your Mom & Dad are doing the same thing for you - give 'em a chance! They won't disappoint!

Good luck!
