Sebastian and Reilly Update

We are happy to report Sebastian and Reilly are progressing wonderfully. They've been here two weeks now and they're really enjoying the good life, you know, like having their meals delivered, round the clock maid service, and all the toys a kitty could want. Sebastian is more of a love kitten than Reilly and Reilly acts more playful than Sebastian. Reilly still hides under the bed quite a bit and Sebastian has started playing with Maggie May under the door.The lady did find the secret to making Reilly purr........ FOODS!

Some totally pawsome news......

The 5 remaining kittens are no longer orphans! They have a momma to take care of them now, her name is Lily! The BCCP president located a lactating female to act as a surrogate for the kittens. Isn't that the most wonderful news?

Lily's thinking......wait......what?

She is nursing and washing them in addition to her one kitten. Lily was pregnant when she was rescue from the shelter by a very nice lady. That lady is so nice that she has taken the 5 kittens into her home so Lily can nurse them.

Look closely and you will see Lily's white kitten.

Magic Man

~Mystery Update~ The Magical Mystery Tour has ended

after a Magic Carpet Ride to his new forever home!

Mystery is now known as Magic and he has moved in with a lady and her two woofies! He was only an office cat for a few days when one of the ladies who worked there decided she wanted to take him home for the weekend...... now he's living the good life on the inside!

She said he is the sweetest boy and just adores ear and neck scritches. We are so happy for Magic and his new family. Wow, what a happy ending! Cal certainly had a paw in this success story!

Unfortunately, we do have some sad news to report.

One of the orphaned 6 left for the rainbow bridge yesterday. He was the lady's favorite and she misses him very much. We're sure Cal was waiting to show him the way.

Monday, Monday

The weekend was very busy..... lots of bonding and trapping going on. The servants tried very hard to capture the mom and kitten, but no luck. Also, they tried using a drop trap to get a very trap savvy kitty in a BCCP managed colony. The kitty has what looks to be a horrible cancer over one-half of it's face. The organization has been trying to trap him for a while now. He was also having none of it and instead laid next to the drop trap. They were quite frustrated.

However, there is some good news to report..... the kittens have names and they have stopped hissing at the lady! Sebastian

The tabby with the brownish-black nose is Sebastian. He has started purring and kneading when the lady picks him up.

Reilly

The mostly white tabby, is named Reilly. The lady has been unsuccessful in getting him to purr or make muffins. He did, however, fall asleep in the crook of her arm.

Every morning when the lady checks on kittens, they've managed to flatten the play cube

They are crated for most of the day, but for a few hours they are let out to roam the room. The lady has heard them through the door, playing and running around. But they still run under the beds when she opens the door. Hopefully, this, too, shall pass.

We apologize in advance if we don't get to visit as much as we'd like this week..... Our lady servant has her hands full with even more kittens!

Man In The Box

What can I say..... no cat did the box quite like Cal. Searching the archives, pretty much the only box photos I found were of Cal. Christmas was his favorite holiday, as you could imagine, with all the boxes. I'm really gonna miss his help this year. He was such a great gift box smoosher!
Here is Rambler with his very cool box-like sleeper/scratcher combo. As you can see by the mess, he really enjoys shredding it to pieces!

And this is Capt. Piver...... He was a TNR kitty who spent a week in our garage in a post-op dog crate while he recovered from a head wound that required antibiotics. He too, loved the box!

Happy International Box Day!! Thanks to Zoolatry for getting all of us cats together to celebrate something we all hold near and dear to our hearts...... boxes!

Baby Love

Servant lady here! Aren't these guys precious! They are pretty skiddish, but we've handled both of them. The mostly white one is a lot more calm than the tabby, but we think both are tamable and hopefully will find great forever homes!Still working on the names..... don't feel I know them well enough yet, but I do believe they are both boys around 10 weeks of age. Trapping resumes for mom and others......

Barracuda - Update

****BREAKING NEWS****

The lady has trapped two kittens behind the shop where she works. These two kittens she has never seen before, she knows of one more that was sitting next to one of the traps. She is using one of the kittens in a trap as bait for the mom. The mom isn't going for it. Wish her luck!

Yesterday the servants took Dixie Dog and CoCo the Barracuda to the vet for their yearly vaccinations and exams. CoCo belongs to the man's mom. She found him as a stray 4 years ago, he looked quite neglected and was thought to have been abused by a previous owner. He might look all cute and sweet, but he'll take your finger off in a quick second without a hint of remorse. Vishus, we tell ya! Just look at him shooting you the laser eyes!

All in all the vet trip went well, aside from CoCo having to be muzzled and Dixie Dog's high-pitched whining, but that's normal for them. During the examinations Dixie, (age estimated around 9) was found to have early signs of cataracts, but the good news is she still has good vision. CoCo (age estimated around 7) was found to have a slight sinus arrhythmia. This means that his heart rate increases when he breaths in and and slows down when he exhales, but the vet said it was nothing to worry about. They are both happy to be back home and the good news is, the vet and tech still have all of their fingers.

The Scoop

A few weeks ago we were contacted by Drew from World's Best Cat Litter asking if we'd like to give their product a try. Of course we said yes because we love trying new things, we're adventurous like that!

We very much enjoyed putting this litter through our very rigorous testing. The lady really liked the litter because it clumps very well, it's biodegradable and it's flushable, and that means less waste! She also realized how great it would be for foster kittens, post-op TNR cats or any cat confined to a small crate with a litter box. She remembers Maggie May being crated for months after her surgeries and how she would get clay clumping litter stuck to her furs and the bottoms of her paws. This litter is safe if it's licked off and eaten because it's made from corn not clay.

Since there are 6 of us, the lady also bought a bag of the extra strength formula which is designed for multi-cat households, like ours, and includes a plant-derived natural scent for odor control. If you have a large furfamily like we do, we recommend the extra strength formula! We use the original formula in Maggie May's upstairs litter box and it does great!

Here's the bottom line......It's safe, clumpable, scoopable, flushable, long-lasting and natural because it's made from whole-kernel corn. It's earth friendly and there is no silica dust flying around and being inhaled into our lungs. We give this litter 12 paws up! Thanks to Drew for introducing us to your product. A Taste Of Honey

Last week our special package from Baby Patches store arrived! It was The Amazing Honeysuckle Mouse! We just have one thing to say....... "Every cat deserves honeysuckle at least once in each of its nine lives!"

What on earth is Ferris doing at the end of this video? Is he honeysuckle stoned? Not long after the taping of this video, Ferris ate 3 pawsful of party mix, took to his cat bed and didn't move for a good 3 hours. Good times!

This awesome collectors plate was a gift from The Cat Street Boyz. When their mom found it in a shop, she thought of us. How nice was that? We love our plate and have it displayed in the living room on a high shelf for good reason. We hope it is far out of reach of the lady servant. She is quite the klutz and we don't want her breaking it!

There are seven cats featured on the "Feliner," which is fitting because originally there were seven of us. We are trying to talk the man servant into officially changing the name of his boat to the "Feliner," but no luck yet. THANKS CAT STREET BOYZ and MOM!

Familiar Faces - Wordless Wednesday

Magical Mystery Tour

Meet Mystery Alpha 2! He arrived in our back yard relocation cage on Sunday morning. Here's his story as we know it:
Another TNR group about 30 miles away had to scramble to relocate an entire colony of cats from a public place before the the county stepped in to eradicate them, they were not given much time. The very dedicated ladies trapped, sterilized, vaccinated, ear-tipped and found homes for the kitties mostly through Allie Cats and Angels, a barn cat relocation program about 3 hours away.
On the last day of trapping, Mystery Alpha 2 showed up after not being seen by colony caretakers for around 8 months. It just happened to be his lucky day, but since he was unexpected, the group didn't have a home for him. The servants agreed to let him stay in a relocation cage in our back yard until a home could be found.
Well, guess what....... Mystery's "tour" has ended! As of this morning, he is on his way to his new forever home as an indoor-outdoor office cat! Yay for Mystery Alpha 2!!We are very happy for him!
Side note: Doesn't he remind you of Cal? The lady couldn't get over the resemblance!

It's Just A Matter Of Time

Our lady servant had the opportunity to have the momma cat spayed and vaccinated at a low-cost clinic over the weekend. She trapped during work on Friday afternoon and most of the day on Saturday. No luck!

She is gonna try again today and everyday until she catches her and her kitten(s). We'll keep ya'll posted on the progress!

That Was Yesterday

The lady has been putting food out for a kitty behind the shop where she works. She had never actually seen the kitty, but the kitty had been seen by some of her coworkers and the food is gone everyday. Yesterday when she went to put the food out for the kitty, she saw a kitten! She went back inside so they could eat and then checked on them about 30 minutes later. After a little searching, she found the momma kitty and the kitten laying under some brush and vines. The momma ran off, but the kitten did not. The lady did not try to approach the kitten, but stood there are talked to it a for a little while, trying to get it used to her voice.

Her plan is to trap the momma kitty, have her spayed, ear-tipped and vaccinated and put her back out behind the shop. The area is fenced in and quite safe, plus she will be fed very well in addition to the mice she probably eats. The kitten looks to be around 10 weeks old and she plans on taking him/her in as a foster until a home can be found. She is hoping the kitten is not past the taming threshold since it is still quite young.

Trapping will being on Monday, wish her luck!
Lets all doing our very best purring for Mazie Grace today as she has her eyeball operations. We are also sending you lots of comforting vibes!
