Permanent Vacation - Goodbye Sebas & Rei *UPDATE*

***UPDATE***

So last night I was laying in the bed feeling pretty sad that the last images I had of the boys was Jr and I stuffing them into carriers and hearing them cry. Not a good feeling....... So imagine the happiness I felt when I received this email from their new owner:

"Thanks again for the boys. Sebastian has demonstrated his leadership. He has already been in my lap and insists on me scratching him and giving him attention. I left the room and he came out from under the end table and looked for me on the couch and started squalling because I was missing. Reilly is indeed the shy one. He has stayed under the couch. I brought him out and held him a bit. He jumped down and decide to go back under. Sebastian has been checking out the living room, and has even decided that the Border Collie (Roadside) was friendly. He walked over to Roadside and began rubbing against him to get his scent. Looks like they all will become friends. They rode quietly home, and were introduced to the wife and Roadside met each up close one as they exited the carrier. As soon as they are settled in, will send photos. They will also be posted on my facebook page. Tom"

A wonderful rush of relief came over me. I knew they were going to be just fine and so were we. I will post updates as I get them.
By the way, the border collie, Roadside, got it's name because they rescued him from the side of the road during hurricane Floyd.

Well friends, this is it. Sebastian and Reilly are leaving today on their permanent vacation. That's what the servants are calling it. See, when they picked them up from their former owners last month, the man said, "Hey boys, how did ya'll enjoy your 3 month vacation?" He told them the next time they left, it would be for a permanent vacation. *cue aerosmith*
Truth be told, the man is very sad they are being adopted. He had hopes of keeping them forever. Of course, the lady is pretty sad too, but is very hopeful they have found their forever home....finally.
Their new home is with a nice older couple who have a rescued border collie. Their 15 year old cat ran off to the bridge last week and the dog is going through some serious grieving, he really loved the kitty. They are hoping Sebastian and Reilly will help cheer them all up.

The Cat-O-Lympics Extreme Climbing

This is our entry for the Cat-O-Lympics Extreme Climbing event, hosted by House of Cats. These pictures were taken last week during the living room remodel. The lady felt sorry for us being locked away all day and decided to give us a chance to come out of jail for a little bit while she and her mom painted.

The lady was standing on the staging, just painting away, when she looked over and saw us, Saylor and Maizy, up on the staging board with her! While she rushed over to get us down, her mom rushed over and grabbed the camera. Don't worry, we weren't skeered and neither of us were hurt during this maneuver!This photo shows the height of our climb. The ladder, while difficult to some cats, was no match for us!We don't know what the fuss was about, we were only trying to help her paint!

It's too bad this photo doesn't show just how much the lady was panicking when Saylor tried to jump from the ladder onto the loft railing. Needless to say, we weren't let out of jail again until the ladders were gone.

Monday Again

Wow! What a weekend we had! First, the servants finally finished the living room and we were set free from our jail cells (the bedrooms). There is still some decorating to do, but the big construction job is done. Here are a few pics.....
On Friday night, the lady attended the art show opening reception. There was an awards ceremony during the reception and she won an honorable mention for her photo, "Just the Beginning." She was given a certificate and also a check for $50.00! She was completely shocked! It was the largest turn out for this show with over 400 works entered.About an hour after she got home on Friday night, the strangest thing happened...... IT SNOWED! A LOT! We're talking like 8" or more. It hardly ever snows here, so it was quite a sight to see. We could have cared less and did a whole lot of this......
But, Dixie Dog had a blast running around and acting crazy!

**Sad News**

Our friend, Theodore from Thoughts Fur Paws has left for the bridge. His mom is extremely sad and could really use some purrs and hugs. Please stop by and give her some. Thanks!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

We hope you'll forgive us if we aren't around much this week, but there are big changes going on in our house, as you know. We hope the work will be completed sometime this week. Here are a few pics of the work that was done over the weekend. Still quite a bit more to go, which means we'll all be locked up in bedrooms while the construction is going on. We get to come out at night after they clean up the mess.

In other news (that also has nothing to do with us) the lady entered 3 pieces into a local art show. It opens on Friday night and will run until the end of February.

Still a long ways to go. The boards will go all the way up to the ceiling.

And yet another coat of paint once they are up on the wall.

Why Can't We Be Friends

Tensions here on the creek are high. Not sure what happened, but the once best friends, Maggie May and Chevelle are total enemies now. One theory is that Chevelle is jealous of how close Maggie May and Saylor are. Maggie May and Chevelle cannot be out in the common rooms together because Chevelle attacks Maggie May. See the scratch on Maggie's nose?

We've purchased a product called "Let's Be Friends" from an online store. It supposed to be good for aggression. We've got our paws crossed. Really hope it works!

Please everyone pray for our friend, Theodore form Thoughts Fur Paws. He is very ill and is in exploratory surgery right now. Please stop by his blog and send some comforting vibes to his mom Jaime who is very sad and worried.

Building A Mystery and Sebas and Rei Update *UPDATE

**UPDATE** The new home for Sebastian and Reilly fell through. The potential new family had pipes burst in their house over the weekend and now have to do some major renovations. They didn't want to bring the cats into that situation. BUMMED!

So the servants painted in the garage last week and we thought that was that. Well, apparently that wasn't that because this week, the lady's dad (Pop) will *hopefully* start remodeling the living room. They were painting 1000 linear feet of 1x6 pine planks to go on the wall. This means we will all have to be put in the rooms while Pop is here working. Here are a few pics of their handy work. We will also post pics of the finished living room.In other news...... Sebastian and Reilly *might* be going to their new forever home this Saturday! A very nice lady responded to the craigslist ad over the weekend and she and her family sound like a purrfect match for the boys. They live in a big old farmhouse 2.5 hours away in a town called Rocky Mount, NC. The servants are working out the logistics and will probably meet them half-way. Everyone keep your paws crossed!
