**Recalled Product May Be Contaminated With Salmonella**

BOSTON -- Cat food sold in Massachusetts and the other New England states is part of a nationwide voluntary recall, the manufacturer said. Mars Petcare said the recall affects a limited number of Special Kitty Gourmet Blend Dry Cat Food.

The recall follows a positive test result showing potential Salmonella contamination in the food, which was sold at Wal-Mart locations in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia.

The company said the product should not be sold or fed to pets and can be returned for a full refund with the empty bag taken to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Best Of Both Worlds

This week the weather has been great. We spent yesterday afternoon on the screened in back porch. We aren't allowed outside unless it is on the back porch or on a harness. Not that our servants have anything against kitties being outside, it's just that not all of our neighbors are kitty-friendly, you see. Case in point, Rambler.
Being on the porch gives us a chance to experience the best of both worlds. We love the fresh air, breezes, and nature sounds. We enjoy views of the creek, birds, and the occasional bun. It was a great day for lizard hunting, but not a good day if you were the lizard. One lizard was lucky and the servants saved it, the other one was not so lucky. Ferris is a great lizard hunter and he makes manly mancat noises when he has one captured. After the hunt and enjoying a little nip, we all found sunny spots and laid in the sunbeams!
We hope that Maggie May will get to join us on the porch soon.

It was a unanimous decision to give Maya the 'tocks shot.....the lady says he has the best 'tocks and with all that floof, looks like he's wearing capri pants.

**The intruder kitty came back on Thursday night, last week, really late. The lady was already in bed, but the man went on the porch to see her (?) and said she looks to be very well fed. He left her some kibble on the porch anyway. They are thinking she must have a home and just likes visiting the neighbors.**

Bad Reputation

We came from a teeny-tiny island on the coast, our previous owner didn't want us and was getting ready to take us to the shelter. When our servants got wind of his plan, they decided to take us in temporarily. When we arrived as 3 month old kitties in the summer of '06, they said they would foster us until forever homes could be found.....ha! They instantly fell in love with our outgoing personalities. We were a tad wild back then and quickly got a reputation for our bad behavior.

"Don't worry, we are very good on the cat walk."

"This is us on top of the kitchen cabinets."

We are still as close as we were when we were just kittens. We still play together and get in trouble together. We are the first ones they look to when something gets broken or dragged out of the trash---*ha ha.* They sometimes refer to us as "the ferals."

With the new foster kitties being around, it sure helps to take some of the heat off of us.
