Funny story..... it was the next to the last lap of the boat race and the lady was sitting on the seawall at the port, watching the boats fly by at high rates of speed. Well, this boat turns the corner and heads straight for the seawall going over 100mph. Everyone starts to freak out and back away from the sea wall. Well, as the lady was trying to run for her life, she tripped over her dad's friend's lawn chair and ate the pavement in front of everyone....HAHAHA! She fell on her right side and has some bruises and has clicking and weakness in her shoulder, but the worst part is the camera didn't make it. It's dead, like completely. She can't even get the pictures off that she took of the boats. Still not sure if the boat was pulling a stunt or what, but got so scarily close to the sea wall, even the announcers thought they had lost control of the boat. She's not upset about it just a little in the shoulder. She says if she hadn't been sitting so close, she wouldn't have gotten so scared.
Thar's a house, not too far from me creek house, called the Hammock House and it was built waaay back in 1709. In fact, it's the oldest house in me town. 
What's so special about this house you might ask? Well, me gonna tell ya......it's said to be haunted! What does this have to do with pirates? One word......Blackbeard! The scallywag! 
That's right, Blackbeard the Pirate once took up residence in this house after he ran his ship, the "Queen Anne's Revenge," aground in Beaufort Inlet in 1718.
A few weeks ago the man called the lady down to the garage for some help. When she walked in, this is what she saw. This is the second hummingbird to fly in the garage and not be able to fly back out of the two huge garage door openings.
The silly bird kept flying around, banging it's head on the ceiling. 
The last hummer to do this tired out pretty quick, but not this guy! He must have really been hopped up on some serious nectar because he wasn't wearing out anytime soon.
For a good thirty minutes the lady stood in the middle of the garage holding up a hummingbird feeder because that's what had worked the last time.
After a while, the man took over and held up the feeder, but the bird was having none of it. So the man climbs on the back of a truck he had on the car lift, he reached up and grabbed the little bird. 
After a few slurps, the hummingbird flew off to a nearby mimosa tree to refuel!

Today, we remember......
We are all pretty sad. Baby Patches was so nice to send us a sample of Cat-Man-Doo Dried Bonito Flakes. We got the package on Saturday and the lady was saving it for us as a treat on Sunday. She was even gonna reserve a little to use as trap bait for the momma cat (yes, they are still trying to trap her). Well, we never got to try it because Ferris decided he was going to have a party on Saturday night and he didn't invite the rest of us! He shredded the bag and ate it all! What a bummer! He really did deserve that I Ate It award!

Last month, we posted about Ferris stealing corn of the man's plate. He hopped right up on the coffee table, snagged it off the plate and started nomming away. Ferris has stolen lots and lots of food during his 3 years on this earth. In fact, his nickname in this house is "Feral" because of his food stealing ways. The lady has learned not to leave any food out on the counter or thawing in the sink. One of his favorite foods to steal is Dixie Dog's kibble. The servants had to get a locking storage container to keep her food safe from "Feral."
