Wordy Wednesday - Look Who Came For Dinner

This kitty could seriously be Maya's long lost sibling. No, really, he could. Maya and his sis Chevelle were found abandoned at an old horse stable in our neighborhood, not far from where we live about 10 years ago. The horse stable had a lot of cats, but it seemed the momma didn't want Maya and Chevelle and they were not in good shape. The horse stable is no longer and we don't know what happened to all the cats because we weren't living here when it was torn down. Perhaps the cats dispersed throughout the neighborhood and surrounding areas?

This mystery kitty looks just like Maya! We've never seen it during the day, and we have no clue where it lives. Apparently, it hangs out with a raccoon because they were caught on the camera around the same time. The mystery black cat also hangs out with a raccoon. Yay for friendly raccoons!

Loving this trail/game camera that my friend loaned me! We've ordered one of our own and it should be here by the end of the week. As for Gretchen, the plan is to just keep monitoring her with the camera. I don't think there is going to be another trapping. That would be trapping number 4 for her and I don't think that's going to happen in a metal trap. She isn't around enough to use the drop trap again. If she stays around here and eats, that will be great and she will hopefully build trust and come around more and more. She is still in a much safer place than she was before. But, she probably feels like I'd feel if I were dropped in the middle of Egypt without a map or wallet. This is foreign territory to her. We need your continued purrs and positive thoughts for her, they always work!

Purring for Gretchen to come back and stay around! That would be cool if this kitty was one of the horse barn ones! Our ferals had managed to find shelter and live out their lives before we got to them. They are resourceful cats!

Shhhhh, don't tell...mom got on at work... HEE HEE HEE. We are still purraying for gretchen and that kitty is really cute. Our 'beans want to get a trail camera too as we have a menacing bear who last night, came on our back deck, knocked over the garbage and then this morning when dad brought it to the curb, the little booger knocked it over and ripped it open EVERYWHERE! So, beofre mom came to work, she was picking up garbage! And, ya know what else he did?!? Destroyed our hummingbird feeder! He's fired!

We will continue to purr for Gretchen.

We want one of those cameras now! Maybe if we purr for that too?

Our guardian angel Roger Ramjet was well known in the neighborhood and used to hangout with racoons and opossums...quite the neighborhood king.

We will purr for Gretchen. I personally don't trust raccoons--but you never know...

That's too cool! I didn't know cats could be friends with racoons, but I suppose if they can befriend dogs, then racoons are much more likely. Great fun with that camera!

You are getting some very good pictures of your nightly visitors. Mom wants to put up a camera so she can see id the neighbor hood raccoon, bunnies and squirrels are eating the food she is leaving for the stray kitten! Way too much food is being eaten for one kitten!

That is really cool! I hope she stays around for a long, long time. :)

Mommy wants to get one of those cameras to check out our night time visitors, too. Especially the ones that keep leaving pee-mail on the front door...

Purring for Gretchen, she may come around and show herself during the day. ::paws crossed::

That camera is terrific. You are just finding all kinds of cats. I would love to do that out at my goat barn and see who comes and goes. I may have 40 cats here, who knows.
We are still saying tons of purrs, woofs, heehaws and a Baa that Gretchen will settle in and start to eat there and kind of move in. We want Gretchen to be a part of your life. You need to catch up to our numbers. LOL
Have a great day.

We'll all purr for the wellbeing of Gretchen. And the camera really is something.
We want to know all about the cat and raccoon. Sounds like an odd couple, something from a cartoon.

Lovin' the info from your trail camera! What fun! Hard to believe that a cat and a raccoon would hang together.
