Movie Monday

Our lady made this movie over the weekend. It stars 3 kitties who live in a managed feral colony. They are the only 3 kitties remaining in a colony at a former recreational fishing hot spot. The fishing spot is now closed to the public, but the lady has special permission to monitor and feed the cats. They were used to getting lots of fish from the fishermen, but now they have to settle for dry food. Doesn't look like they mind much though. What's funny is there are 2 other bowls, but they insist on eating out of the same one! Too cute!

Many of you have heard about the horrible news happening in NJ where Tuck lives. When the lady heard this disturbing news, she decided to write a letter in support of TNR and opposing the feral cat hunting. She hopes the NJ Fish and Game Council gets a freakin' flood of letters! Just look at the kitties in the video above, can you imagine them with a bullseye on their heads? The feral cat hunting plan is despicable and we hope and pray it doesn't come to pass.

Visit Tuck's blog for more info and for contact info to submit your own letter.

Great video Dana. What pretty kitties. And they are really funny all eating out of the same dish. I still cannot believe that they have passed such a law in New Jersey. I have written my letter. Can you send this video?? Those cats look very happy and healthy.

Such cuties! You can tell they're good friends too!

We are horrified at the news in NJ! We'll make our Mom send a letter too (although we're sure she already was thinking about it). She's got a BIG mouth and will definitely send a protest letter!

Open season on cats is barbaric. Some people can be beyond inhumane.

Mom met a member of the Board of Directors of our local Humane Society this past Saturday. He gave Mom the name and cell phone number of a lady who may be able to help us get our feral colony TNR'd. Woohoo!

Those kitties are so adorable! I'm hoping that crap in NJ doesnt get passed either another state over in the midwest tried that a year or two again and it got shot down I hope for the same fate in NJ

This comes at the right time to motivate people to write to those NJ guys. What kind of "solution" is hunting, please? TNR and education of people is the only way to come to terms with animal suffering.
Those three are very handsome and happy. Sharing one bowl being three is ridiculously cute!

What a great movie and a peculiar trio. We don't even like sharing bowls much.

That is a good video! Funny how they all want to eat out of the same bowl

How could anyone shoot a cat? That's cruel.

Lovely ferals. We have a local organization here called Project Purr who Spay/neuter and release ferals into managed colonies. They socialize the kittens and adopt them out. Our Mom may adopt a couple former ferals this Spring. Keep up the good work!

Seeing these beautiful feral cats just emphasises how cruel those stoopid people can be. We are horrified by even the very thought of such potential cruelty.

Those are gorgeous kitties! We had some mumblings of feral cat hunting here in Milwaukee, but so many people opposed it so it was dropped.

We were upset about what we learned at Tuck's blog too. Even the male found that horrible! So we wrote out letter as well. I hope they listen and care that people from all over the country are writing them!

Our naughty outside orange kitty eats that quickly. It makes Meowm sad. She stays out there with him and he lets her pet him a little while he eats though. We are glad that Meowm can show him a little love and tenderness.

Angel Junior, Orion and Sammy said...

Oh, and those three sure are purrty! We are very glad your Mom still gets to take care of them!

Look how adorable they are. We heard about the horrible news too. Hope the letters and emails help make a difference. We are purring for the feral kitties in NJ.

That video is so cute with the kitties sharing the one bowl!

We hadn't heard about the NJ law but it makes us sick. How could anyone ever have thought of such a horrific thing. And then to make it seem like it's the thing to do will get some people to do it anyway. It's horrific and our mommy will write a letter too.

We do not under how those people in NJ could be so cruel, what on earth would allow you to think you could harm harmless kitties?

Those kitties are certainly enjoying their food.
Here, if someone shot a cat, they would be prosecuted for animal cruelty. It is disgusting that NJ wants to make it legal.

Tuck said...

Thank you for helping us spread the word. Hopefully the council will get so many letters they realize that they are being cruel and heartless. I was a feral kitten and my human cries every time she thinks about someone trying to hunt me.

That is a very cute video. Bless your mom for taking care of those three kitties! :)

And yes, we think what is happening in NJ is disgusting, too.

Awww! They're beautiful. And how funny that they all want to eat from the same bowl!

I just heard about the NJ thing on Twitter a little bit ago. Horrible! I hope with all my hopes nothing like that ever passes. How could people be so heartless?!?!

Headed over to Tuck's blog now...

If there are only 3 kitties left of the feral colony, couldn't they be trapped and found homes? That would be SO MUCH better for them...

Cory said...

How cute can they be! Major cute!

Thank you for watching over them and doing such great work.

They are so sweet. It is cute how they want to eat from one bowl.

As far as hunting and shooting feral cats, it is about the lowest stupidest thing I have ever heard!

what is wrong with people. Why can't people be more responsible and have their cats neutered and spayed to cut down on the number of feral cats. I feel very sad to think of how little compassion there is for suffering homeless animals.
I wonder if homeless people will be fair game someday for hunters.

Okay, there are FAR better ways to manage feral populations then opening a hunting season. OY. And we are pro hunters around here....but NOT for kitties thank you!

Funny how they all eat out of that one bowl. We sent a letter to NJ too - so many uncaring people out there!

Old Kitty said...

Awwww - I love how the kitties (looking absolutely gorgeous and healthy and happy!) are all eating from the same bowl.. when there are two others! How funny!

I did know about that NJ plan from Love Meow blog. Unbelievable.

I hope the plan gets shot down asap!

Take care

That's cute, all of them eating out of the same bowl.
