And We're Back

Feels like we've been gone forever! Here's a little update on what we've been up to....
We have a new garden in the front yard for Gretchen, but she won't stay in it....We built a new "cat shack" on the front porch, but she won't sleep in it....But, Gretchen is making great progress and will now eat on the porch with us!!
We got new foster kittens! A very caring shelter volunteer pulled them from our shelter, had them spayed and arranged for them to be transported to a rescue in Maryland. They will be with us until Friday. They are so precious, but both have URI and bad tapeworms and ear mites. We've been fixing them all up since we got them last Friday. We've named the long-haired girl, Tutti Frutti and the short-haired girl we named Rudi.

Many of you have asked about Maizy and Ferris' weight loss secret. Well, they used to get 1/4 cup of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.... we cut out lunch altogether and they now only get 1/4 cup of food for breakfast and 1/4 cup for dinner. They are eating Natural Balance Duck and Green Pea.

Mommy is singing "Cat Shack" to the tune of "Love Shack"! Thanks, you guys! Mommy, please pipe down!

Gretchen is getting braver! Have you spreayed the shack with nip or valarian or Feliway spray? That might relax her a little.

The fosters are so cute, you are great to spend time "fixing" them up...we're sure they will find homes in no time.

LOVE the new cat shack!!! You guys are so handy. You should start selling those...i'd buy one! Eventhough I have 2 feral villas already, I know I am going to need more for winter.
I adore seeing Gretchen up on the porch with you. That is great!!

I think you have made super progress if Gretchen is eating with you there. She is becoming your friend. She may have to be a porch kitty. I have one that will come on my porch and let me just touch her, not pick up, and eat. She hasn't been to the vet for years because I can't catch her.
Glad you had a good staycation. Welcome back.

Why am I not surprised that Gretchen has refused to take advantage of all the nice things that have been done for her? It's just typical kitty behavior! It's great that she's eating on the porch with the humans, though! That is definitely good progress.

The new kitties look cute!

That "cat shack" looks like a cozy spot, we hope Gretchen sleeps in it. Mom says we do the same thing when she brings a new sleepy spot into the house. We're glad she's eating on the porch with you.

I love the photos of the two new guys!I hope their URI and ear mites get cleared up before you have to let them go. I bet the tapeworms will take longer than you have. Great kudos to you for doing this sponsorship!

And isn't it interesting how they rarely use the things we put in front of them.

For all the folks (I consider cats and dogs as persons) reading this, my blog has stories and information helpful for cat helpers everywhere.

I pray that all the cat blogosphere kitties stay well!
