Feels like we've been gone forever! Here's a little update on what we've been up to....
We have a new garden in the front yard for Gretchen, but she won't stay in it....

We built a new "cat shack" on the front porch, but she won't sleep in it....

But, Gretchen is making great progress and will now eat on the porch with us!!

We got new foster kittens! A very caring shelter volunteer pulled them from our shelter, had them spayed and arranged for them to be transported to a rescue in Maryland. They will be with us until Friday. They are so precious, but both have URI and bad tapeworms and ear mites. We've been fixing them all up since we got them last Friday. We've named the long-haired girl, Tutti Frutti and the short-haired girl we named Rudi.

Many of you have asked about Maizy and Ferris' weight loss secret. Well, they used to get 1/4 cup of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.... we cut out lunch altogether and they now only get 1/4 cup of food for breakfast and 1/4 cup for dinner. They are eating Natural Balance Duck and Green Pea.

The noo little kittens are adorable. We hope they feel much better soon ~ worms and ear-mites are no fun at all. Thank yoo so much for helping them survive.
That cat shack looks like it might be cosy! Those kittens are furry cute! We love that pink blankie!
We hope that Gretchen starts to take advantage of all of the cool things you guys have set up for her, but we're happy that she is progressing!

We are glad Gretchen is getting braver. Maybe when she gets even braver, she will use her new shelter. The kittens are very cute. We hope they are soon feeling better.
That's a terrific cat shack! We hope Gretchen feels comfortable enough at some point to start using it.
The two little girls are cutie pies, just adorable. So glad they're under your care and being treated for the health issues!
Oh gosh, who wouldn't love that cute little cat shack!
Your new fosters are adorable.
Poor babies. I hope they feel better soon.
We're very glad to see that Gretchen is eating with the humans (even if she won't use the cat shack!) And thanks so much for helping the foster kittens - they are beautiful.
Rudi and Tutti Frutti are so cute. Thanks for sharing the pictures of them.
Have a great Monday!
It's really great to see Gretchen hanging around. She just needs lots of time to do things her own way.

We like your new front yard...and that cat shack is WAY cool! You are awesome, and especially so to help those sweet kittens.
Gretchen is really making progress! And we love those new kittens--they are so sweet!
Mommy is singing "Cat Shack" to the tune of "Love Shack"! Thanks, you guys! Mommy, please pipe down!
Gretchen is getting braver! Have you spreayed the shack with nip or valarian or Feliway spray? That might relax her a little.
The fosters are so cute, you are great to spend time "fixing" them up...we're sure they will find homes in no time.
That is so wonderful you are taking care of the foster kitties.
Good kittehs! :) I am happy to hear your news. :)
Tutti Fruiti and Rudie are beautiful but then all of your kitties are gorgeous.
I'll stay in Gretchen's shack!! Love the color.
Welcome back we missed you but hope you had a great vacation.
Madi and Mom
LOVE the new cat shack!!! You guys are so handy. You should start selling those...i'd buy one! Eventhough I have 2 feral villas already, I know I am going to need more for winter.
I adore seeing Gretchen up on the porch with you. That is great!!
Purrs, Carrie
I think you have made super progress if Gretchen is eating with you there. She is becoming your friend. She may have to be a porch kitty. I have one that will come on my porch and let me just touch her, not pick up, and eat. She hasn't been to the vet for years because I can't catch her.
Glad you had a good staycation. Welcome back.
Yay for Gretchen eating on da porch wif you now. Thanks you for da update and da kittehs are adorable!
Purrrrrrrrrrs
Why am I not surprised that Gretchen has refused to take advantage of all the nice things that have been done for her? It's just typical kitty behavior! It's great that she's eating on the porch with the humans, though! That is definitely good progress.
The new kitties look cute!
Gretchen is making good progress and I bet she loves her new garden and bed. She's kinda shy and reserved. In no time you'll see she'll take to it. And those darling babies are so sweet!

How precious!! You're doing everything you can for Gretchen. Good job.
That "cat shack" looks like a cozy spot, we hope Gretchen sleeps in it. Mom says we do the same thing when she brings a new sleepy spot into the house. We're glad she's eating on the porch with you.
Sniffie and the Florida Furkids
That is a grand cat shack and such a pretty garden.
The foster babies are so cute and we hope they find a forever home soon.

Those little newbie foster's are SOOOOOO cute! And we think Gretchen is crazy for not diggin that cool house. Can we move in?
Oh What adorable kittens. I hope they have a good forever home waiting on them.
They are so cute.
We spent the weekend in Panama City,FL. We got lucky too. No oil or tar balls. It was just beautiful.
We're glad to hear that Gretchen is little by little getting closer to you, and hope she trusts you more soon. Sending healing vibes and purrayers for sweet babies Tutti Frutti and Rudi!
Your garden looks pretty and so glad Gretchen is warming up to you. Best wishes to Tutti Frutti and Rudi!

I love the photos of the two new guys!I hope their URI and ear mites get cleared up before you have to let them go. I bet the tapeworms will take longer than you have. Great kudos to you for doing this sponsorship!
And isn't it interesting how they rarely use the things we put in front of them.
For all the folks (I consider cats and dogs as persons) reading this, my blog has stories and information helpful for cat helpers everywhere.
I pray that all the cat blogosphere kitties stay well!
