Foster Updates

We've gotten word from the foster parents of calico girls, Tutti Frutti and Rudi and the meezer girls, Muffins and Pancakes.
Tutti Frutti and Rudi are doing wonderfully in their foster home and are getting along with the other foster cats, one a turkish angora and the other another calico. Wow, that's a lot of tortitude for one house :) They are going to adoption events in Baltimore and in Pennsylvania on the weekends. The foster dad said Rudi loves to nurse on his hand and Tutti Frutti is more independent and super loving. They have both recovered from their URIs.Muffins and Pancakes made is safely to NJ using the pet transport relay. They are doing great in their foster home, getting used to their new surrounding and playing like crazy.

We Are Siamese If You Please

Well, the former shelter girls, Pancakes and Muffins, will be leaving us tomorrow for Perfect Pals Rescue in New Jersey. They will be doing the transport relay thing, so it's going to be a loooooong ride. It's about a 10 hour drive straight through, but they will be stopping about every 1 1/2 hours or so to switch cars, like a relay. We are very fortunate to have people who volunteer their time to do these transports. They are literally a life saver! So everyone purr and purray they will have safe travels and will find wonderful homes with wonderful families.

And We're Back

Feels like we've been gone forever! Here's a little update on what we've been up to....
We have a new garden in the front yard for Gretchen, but she won't stay in it....We built a new "cat shack" on the front porch, but she won't sleep in it....But, Gretchen is making great progress and will now eat on the porch with us!!
We got new foster kittens! A very caring shelter volunteer pulled them from our shelter, had them spayed and arranged for them to be transported to a rescue in Maryland. They will be with us until Friday. They are so precious, but both have URI and bad tapeworms and ear mites. We've been fixing them all up since we got them last Friday. We've named the long-haired girl, Tutti Frutti and the short-haired girl we named Rudi.

Many of you have asked about Maizy and Ferris' weight loss secret. Well, they used to get 1/4 cup of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner.... we cut out lunch altogether and they now only get 1/4 cup of food for breakfast and 1/4 cup for dinner. They are eating Natural Balance Duck and Green Pea.

The Kids Are Alright

The kittens are starting to feel better....... here's a little proof.

This video was taken around 11:00pm Tuesday, right after the lady had to force-feed them A/D by syringe! They have started eating small amounts on their own and have not vomited since Tuesday morning. YAY!
