Today we say goodbye to Tutti Frutti and Rudi. They are leaving to go to Maryland Pet Match Rescue. They've got a long ride ahead of them and we wish them and their wonderful transporter safe travels. They both still have URIs, so please pray they get well soon! We've asked the rescue group to please send us updates and we hope they will. We've gotten so attached to them in just one week. *tears*
We are supposed to get 2 siamese mix kittens this weekend or next week. They, like Tutti and Rudi, are being pulled from our high-kill shelter by a very caring shelter volunteer who has found a rescue for them. Three of their litter mates weren't as lucky, bless them.

My human and I try not to be too sad about the kitties that don't make it out of the high kill shelters, and instead focus on the kitties that are able to be saved and who need homes. But it's hard.
Big Purrs out to Tutti Frutti and Rudi!! May they get over their illness quickly and get into a wonderful forever home!!! It is so sad that some kittens don't even get a chance.

I'm a little teary reading about those kitten littermates that didn't get a chance. It's close to home for me because as a kitten, my momma had a litter of 6 to care for and all of my siblings looked siamese and I did not. I was the only one not adopted...so if I was unfortunate enough to be at a high kill shelter, I would have been the one to not make it out, just because of my fur color. I purr hard everyday for the wonderful rescue organization who saved me and my momma and siblings...and purr extra hard that I got a chance to know love, family and the wonderful work of the Cat Blogosphere.
