Checking In With Gretchen

How cute is Gretchen in these pictures!!!
So here's some good news.....We've been able to lure Gretchen up to the top of the steps using fried chicken and grilled sea mullets. She will even eat some of her wet food in front of us. She stayed on the platform of the stairs for over an hour with us on the porch. She took a nap and was even flirting by rolling around. This is the closest we've been to her since relocating her to our yard from her feral colony. It's great progress! If only we could get her to stay. Next week is our vacation/staycation and we plan on working a lot more with her and hopefully find her day hiding spot. Every night she comes from the house across from us. It's for sale and no one lives there. Perhaps she lives under the deck. We don't have many hiding spots on our property. She must feel safe over there.
Check out those lasers!

Yay for you and Gretchen!! Awwww! She's really looking lovely - laser eyes and all! I'm so glad she's coming to you more and more. I hope she realises it's much safer and happier to be with you than if she's in an abandoned house!

Me and Charlie have everything crossed for you and her!

Take care

Morning Creek Cats!!!
Gretchen is such a pretty girl and for her to venture all the way up the stairs proves she is very eager to get to know who is behind your door. Great progress indeed.

We will be posting our Life is Good award tomorrow please drop by if you can. It was fun. Some of the terms were very interesting. Did the award originate in England.

Happy hot Monday,
Madi and Mom

Oh Gretchen, good girl. Glad you are feeling more comfortable around the servants. She probably does feel safe across the street. A lot of my cats go next door under their house which is nuts because they can get under my house. Cats have their own definition of what is safe and nice.
Those are really cute pictures of her. Good to see you Gretchen.

You Gretchen sounds just like our Zolie, except Zolie has moved into the upper area our garage, even had kittens in there. Mom longs to pet her, but can't get close. She will eat on the deck if mom is out there too. Slow progress. Maybe in time.....
Thank you so much for the nice anniversary wishes! We think that old joke about the "mosquito state bird" goes around in alot of states!!
