He's the niece, Kayla, dressed up as Dorthy, in front of my retro bistro sets. I decorated my kitchen like a 50's diner. Still have the bistro set, but needed something bigger for the new house, so we stored it.
Here's Kayla again, this time dressed up as Shirley Temple. You can kinda see the retro stove. The oven didn't work well at all and I would either burn everything or undercook. But it looked sooooo cool!
Here's Maya lounging in a sea of plastic bags. He was around 5 years old in that photo.

This was our beloved Sylvester. He was probably about 4 years old in this photo. He loved to lounge in the window perch and watch the birds and squirrels eat from the feeder. He died suddenly about a year after we moved to The Creek. He was only 6 years old.
This is our beloved Cal picking out paint colors for our new house. He actually chose the "Spring Bud" green color that adorns our living room, kitchen, hallway and loft. Without his help, the walls would probably still be "contractor white." I had looked at so many paint samples by that point, my head was spinning. He was a big help.

Isn't that fun to remember all those things and places. Your old house does look super. But we like the one on the creek.
Hope you have a great day.
Absolutely AWESOME! Mom LOVES the retro look too! Your mom sure has good taste and your little niecebean is adorable!
Those are some really nice memories! We love that 50's diner look, too.
What a great memory photos you have.
Thanks for sharing your memories with us, those were fun to see.
it is fun to sit and reminisce. Wow didn't life seem simply long ago!
Thanks for sharing your memories with us! We didn't know Cal was an interior decorator!!!
Your old house looks a little like our house (we are still renters and probably will always be so!), except ours is in much worse shape. Love all the photos - and the cats think those plastic bags look extremely yummy.
Sweet photos of your past and the precious babies that were your companions...It's always lovely and bittersweet to see photos of those who have gone to the Bridge for our Mommy...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Cal sounds like he was a very bright kitty! It's a good thing he was around to help you pick out the paint - when humans are having a hard time deciding something, they should always ask a cat's opinion.
Awwww what lovely memories!! Kayla is adorable as Dorothy and Shirley Temple! :-)
Me and Charlie love the floor where Maya is resting on the plastic bags! And Sylvester is beautiful.
And clever Cal for helping you pick out a colour!! Well done Cal!
Take care

Thanks for sharing your memories with us! The retro kitchen was really neat! It's very special that your wall color was picked by Cal!
What lovely memories. Thank you for sharing them with us!
Wonderful photos. It's always fun to go back and look at how things have changed. I remember our other house had steps. I used to love running up and down them.
Those are nice memories.
Wonderful walk down memory lane! Reminds me of the bungalow I rented for 18 years in Oregon...850sq ft, linoleum in green and white, retro stove (that shocked me if I touched the fridge at the same time)and $300 a month rent!
It is always interesting to look back at old photos.
It is wonderful to look back at the old days, especially to see our beloved cats who have since left us.
The kitchen was cool :)

Have you noticed how life always seems simpler on a celluloid paper? :)

We purr remembering handsome Cal and we wish we got to know Sylvester. Purrrr....
When mom and dad moved into our house they had a 1930's stove which was awesome but it went out in a blaze of glory...kind of scary according to mom, but she still misses it.
I didn't get a chance to visit yesterday...wonderful memories, so kind of you to share them with us!
Mom says: What nice memories--some bittersweet, too. Love the pictures! Thanks for sharing!
The cats say:
We iz sorry fur takin so long to git heer, but da typist haz been buzy wif extry werks and tired. But, we did want to stop by and fank you fur comin' to our big pawty last week!
We had a pawsome time wif all our furriends, and fanks fur helpin celebrate! Effuryone got a little nipped out, but it wuz worth it!
It is nice to remember the ones who came before.
Ooooo - we likes playin' in a pile of plastic bags!
Love your old photos! SS used to live in a place like that by the beach. The rent was like yours - fantastic. Now, the shiny new appartments in the same location cost 4 arms and 8 legs, aka completely and utterly out of our modest range. :sigh: Yes, those were the days, my friends....
Looking at old pictures is always a blast, especially when they bring back good memories. Thanks for sharing. :)
P.S. Your old kitchen looked like it was super snazzy!
