Sweet Leaf

We've got fresh cat nip and mint! The lady potted them for us over the weekend. She read about a very cool cat herb garden in a magazine, but since we can't go outside..... she wanted to make us an indoor container garden. She is still on the lookout for cat mint, valerian, and cat thyme. She can't seem to find any where we live.
Every morning she has to clean up little pieces of the leaves where we have nommed them all over the table during the night. We have cat nip parties and sometimes we get a little rowdy...hehehe!
She laughed when she saw the label on our cat nip....... "non-addictive." :-)

We were given this award by Katz and Other Tails. Thank you!!!

We'd like to pass it along to:

EVERYONE!

We think all the moms out there are the best this world has to offer!

You guys are really lucky! We only get the dried kind of catnip. We're still thankful though.

Hi, I had to check out your nip ;) I'm so excited for you! "Purrs" to your Mommy for being so thoughtful. That's the second time in a week I've seen "valerian" in print and I wants to try some. P.S. I voted for you today @ Furry Faceoff!

We have cat mint! (I got it at K-Mart, believe it or not - but it was several years ago). The cats like it, but not as much as the nip.

Valerian is kind of a weed in the garden, but pretty. The root is what cats like - it stinks, but I guess not to them! We got some "valerian spiced catnip" from Pat at Plain Brown Tabby (I think it's catniptoys.com) - Franklin loves it.

We didn't know that nip and cat mint is something different! Mom solemly swears that nip is Nepeta cataria is cat mint. Now we feel like we're still missing out on something!;) Siena got two valerian filled cushions and went mad at both of them, but only for one time each. Mom reckons, it's not worth the monies then... Katie is right, valerian stinks a bit. Your little kitchen garden looks like just the place to be!

Dan swears by the drop trap for the "hard to catch". Altho mom swears he could trap a polar bear in the arctic with a popsicle! He does a lot of wildlife trapping for the state in this area. Wounded wild animals are really hard to get.

We are under the impression that cat mint is the actual green plant while cat nip is the dried product.

Thank you for visiting Precious on Critters.com. I made the memorial for my dog Comet who had to be put to sleep in 1997. It helped me grieve, even if it was 10 years later. I couldn't afford the $35 fee for all the animals I wanted to include so I added them as friends.

I'm glad you liked Cal's memorial. You are very welcome! I added it last night after I left you the link. I thought he should have a place there too. I cried writing it! I don't visit Critters very often anymore because it usually makes me think of losing the furbabies I have now. I always end up crying!

Thanks for the idea of the indoor cat herb garden! I may have to try that for Snowball and the boys. I grow the cat grass every so often, but someone always makes a mess out of it.

We don't know why, but mom kills indoor plants...Jonesie knows how to help her outdoors, but inside she's hopeless. We love your indoor garden. Seems like there would be a specialty seed CAT-alog that would sell you any kind of seed you'd want. We just googled and found: http://www.parkseed.com/gardening/PD/1433/

They are calling it Catmint Blue Carpet (Nepeta nervosa Blue Carpet)...not sure about that nervosa part!!!

Your mom leaves your nip plant out all the time? Wow! You're lucky! Looks yummy for kitties.

And I love the World's Best Cat Mom -- what a cute little award. I'll gladly accept it and am posting it on http://www.YourDailyCute.com right now! :)

Your plants look wonderfully green and fresh. It's very nice of your mom to make you an indoor garden, she deserves the award.

The pictures are beautiful - and midnight nip parties sound like so much fun.

(We've got cat nip, cat mint and valerian in our garden, but we've never heard of cat thyme. We'll have to have our humans look into it)

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

That is a sweet tribute to Cal. When we lose loved ones it can be hard. My mom still misses her Dandelion. Dandelion went to the bridge 2 years and 3 months ago. Yet mom still has moments of extreme sorrow over her. We thinks that is ok. Mom has forgiven me for being Dandelion's tormentor.

Oopss!! I put this on the wrong day!!! Sorries about that!

Wow! You do have the World's Best Cat Mom :-D

I need to plant some nip for our kitties. They love the fresh stuff!
