What's Going On

Update on me, Cal
I still had a pretty rough weekend, even with the medications. It may be because they haven't had time to work to their full effect yet, or because I vomit them up before they can even begin working. My vet said the predisolone could take a little time to calm the inflammation in my abdomen. Saturday lunch was the first meal I was able to keep down. However, I didn't keep my supper down that night, or my breakfast the next morning.

The lady had leaky eyes for most of the day yesterday because she feels very helpless (not in control) in this situation and there is nothing she can do to soothe my poor tummy. I gave her lots of headbutts to let her know she is doing everything right. She, in return, gave me lots of scritches. She and I spent a little time on the back porch yesterday afternoon. I love to be outside and it really seemed to perk up my mood. She even put my food out there , but I wasn't ready to eat just yet.

When I do decide to eat it is not much at all, only about a teaspoons worth of food. She brought home a canned food that I really enjoy, (at the moment) it smells just like a turkey dinner! I had breakfast this morning and took my meds (yuck.) Hopefully I will keep them down and not give her any surprises to clean up when she gets home for lunch.

The lady is supposed to call my nice new vet tomorrow with an update on me, I hope she is able to give a good report cause if not, it's back to the vet for x-rays. Please purr for me so I don't have to go back!! And thanks so much for all the kind words, purrs, and purrayers so far. You guys are the best!!! Not only do the kind words help to perk up my mood, but they are comforting to the lady and man as well!

Hang in there Cal and eat what you can as often as you can. We will purr and purr for you!

I bet it is comforting to get so many purrs. I have to discipline my human though that she doesn't let her concern show through. "Mom, that doesn't help at all, they worry enough already!" So, Cal, keep trying to get better and even IF you got to go to the vet again (what I certainly don't hope), always remember that they only want to help you. It must have been lovely to get some extra time on the porch...
Purrs to you,

Cal, I am going to explain something to you. The word "cal" can be short for calorie. This means that the more "Calories" you ingest, the more "Cal" you become! So, I hope you can eat real good soon and get lots of good Cal-ories. I am purring for you!

Cal, I left you two presents over at my blog. Sent someone over to pick them up for you, maybe Maggie as she seems to be bursting with energy!

Poor Cal, what a rough time of it you are having. I hope you can manage to keep a little more food down. I understand how hard it is for your Mum, she so wants you to be well. But you will get better, you have the best of care and lots of love. I'm glad you enjoyed some time outside.

Sending rumbly purrs

Oh sweet Cal, we are thinking of you all the time. Maybe your mommy can ask the nice vet if you can get a prednisone shot...that's what our Jonesie gets sometimes because that way she can't throw it up! Hang in there and know you are loved!

Hi Cal,

Are your medications in liquid or pill form? Pills can sometimes be harder to get down, and keep them that way. If your not already on liquid meds, try asking your vet about them. If your meds only come in a pill version, then find out if they can be compounded by a compounding pharmacy. We have to compound all of Moki's meds not available in a liquid formula.

P.S.

We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

O, Cal, we are purring and purraying fur you to get better. Fast. And no more vets.
We use A/D food, from tha vet. I hear its made of pig liver and its very stinky and yummy an almost a liquid. They's use it fur force feeding in a syringe sometimes. That or baby food (chiken) we will always almost eat right up. Nommy.
We's love you and is really purring...
Loud!

That's a bit better news Cal, but we want you to each way more food. Maybe the suggestions about baby food or A/D food might give your beans some ideas. Neither of us have ever had anything like the problems that you're having. We'll keep purring real hard for you to get well, and for your bean family,

We are sending you tons of purrs and purrayers. Bow has had IBD since 1995 and has been on prednisolone since then. It has worked wonders for him.

I am sorry you are not eating Cal. When one of my family gets like that Mom gives me Nux Vomica 30c in one dose and I feel better. It may help. It works for Chica who has kidney failure and Clarence who had cancer. She can squirt it in your mouth real quick. Just water so it doesn't taste bad. Hope things get better.
