Update on Cal
Cal has reverted back to sick, vomiting kitty, who will not eat. The lady has done lots of research online, and found that vomiting could be a symptom of a number of illnesses in cats. A friend asked if maybe Cal could be suffering from inflammatory bowel disease, at first the lady wasn't too sure, but looking at the symptoms, there are so many similarities. Vomiting, excessive thirst, weight loss, decreased appetite, etc. What really caught her attentions was that it can occur in cycles or the cat can have flare ups and remissions. Since Cal has been to the vet 3 or 4 times in the past year for the same symptoms, maybe these are flare ups of IBD.
Cal is going to another veterinarian today at 4:00 for a second opinion on his condition. We are going on day 5 of not eating or vomiting up what little he has eaten. This cannot go on through the weekend. We can no longer take the wait and see and let his stomach settle approach, we want action.
Please purr for Cal and pray that this next vet can get him feeling better again.

Oh no, poor Cal! I am purring very, very hard for you. This vomiting definetely mustn't go on! I feel really bad for my joke about the birthday cake the other day. I only wanted to cheer you up, Cal - I hope it didn't give you the wrong impression. I'm sure the humans will find what upsets you and will do everything to cure you. Keep going!

Poor Cal! I think going to another vet is a very good idea because sometimes other vets are more open to stuff.

They thought Kaze might have IBD (she doesn't, but lost some weight and appetite at one point) and suggested a food allergy.
Poor Cal! He must be exhausted. We had this sort of problem with Angel, endless vomiting, thirst, diarrhea, inappetance, weightloss and it kept happening in bouts. Eventually she had a test for pancreatitis and scored for a mild bout of it (the constant gut inflamation caused it) she's now stable on a diet of Sensitivity Control S/O (Royal Canin) which is restricted protein and contains probiotics, and has a daily dose of Pro-kolin which is kaolin + probiotics. It took a while and 2 vets, but eventually we got it under control. Best of luck for today's vet visit. It is a real slog sometimes.

Poor Cal..we sure hope da new vet can figger it out. Our vet sent Speedy to an "internist" because he can't figger out what is wrong. We think dat is why mom loves our Dr. G so much, if he can't figger out what is wrong he has no prollem wif telling mom to take us somewhere else even if it's not a speshulist cuz no one can know everything and some vets know difrint stuff.
Oh no! Good luck at the vet this afternoon. Seeing a different vet is a good idea.

You are doing the right thing being agressive and getting a 2nd opinion...and if that doesn't work out, get a 3rd. Our Jonesie has had trouble with vomiting related to IBS which is related to her Rodent Ulcer issues (it has nothing to do with mousies). She has to get cortisone shots because sometimes the flare ups make her have vomiting and diarhea...and all of it doesn't show up in her blood work.
Lots of purrs and prayers for Cal.
