LIVESTRONG DAY

Our Cal was helped to the bridge on March 26, 2009. He was a warrior till the end as he battled intestinal lymphoma. We miss him so much everyday and would give anything to have him back. He suffers no longer at the Bridge. This was the last footage we had of Cal. If you are unable to view the video, you can see it here.

Quick Update - Updated

Happy Friday, everyone! Just a quick update......

**Ziggy's x-ray revealed no fractures or breaks. Vet suspects possible soft tissue damage and gave him an anti-inflammatory injection!**

Well, it's been raining since about Saturday night here and this place is a wet mess, but we're ok. Thanks to all who have asked about us :) Although, our roof has sprung a few leaks. Grrr! One of my greatest fears is water in places it shouldn't be, like floods and leaks. So, it's no fun for me to have to walk in my master bath or laundry room with the water stains on the ceiling. I know..... I'm weird, lol.

Sweetie is supposed to leave on transport today for Persian Rescue in VA. I can't even imagine the sadness our hearts will feel when we have to hand her over to her transporter. Not looking forward to that. **UPDATE** Just got word that Sweetie won't be leaving until NEXT weekend.Yesterday, Ziggy started limping on his right rear leg. He won't let me touch it and cries when I pick him up to examine it. God help me, his symptoms are so much like what Maggie May displayed when she was having her patellar luxation issues before the surgeries. I have started him on supplements, but will take him into the vet today if I need to. **UPDATE** Dropping Ziggy off to the vet this morning for evaluation.Lastly, I want to share a LINK with everyone. These dogs disappeared about 10 miles from where we are and they were loved dearly. They may have been taken out of the county or even the state. If this happened to my pets, I would be devastated and I know this lady is.

Gretchen spends most of her day in her kitty cube on the bed in her room instead of constantly hiding under the bed. She is still learning what it is to be a spoiled kitty. She is making good, but slow progress. Sometimes she will play paws with the other kitties under the door. She still loves rubs and pets :)

Sweetie was supposed to be adopted on Saturday, but she ended up coming back home with us. The home and potential adopter were wonderful! Sweetie took to the new home immediately and loved exploring. However, the meet and greet with the dog was an epic fail! For Sweetie's own safety, we decided it was not the right home for her. I am waiting to hear back from Persian Rescue about what to do next.

Ziggy and Sweetie are still here. I have asked Sweetie's potential adopter to give me a definite answer by today. She has been having some health problems, but really wants Sweetie. We shall see how that goes.

Ziggy will be going on Petfinder sometime this week. Unfortunately, my boss was unable to take him at this time. He will still be going to work with me everyday and stealing my office chair.

We had a clinic on Saturday and 16 more free-roaming cats were spayed/neutered and vaccinated!! Total for 2010 is 161!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, been feeling pretty overwhelmed. Have a ton of stuff going on, but I will try to keep up with the visiting as much as possible.
