Ziggy is still around and goes to work with me everyday. Still unsure if he will be an office cat or if I need to find him a new home. He gets along with everyone, especially Maggie May! They sound just alike, in fact, it's hard to tell their meows apart.

Movie Monday With Sweetie
Thought I'd update everyone on Sweetie with a video......Enjoy!
She's doing wonderfully and has gained a whole pound. Couldn't be happier with her progress and appetite. She goes Wednesday for her vaccinations and check up. Still not sure when she will be going to Persian Rescue, but she will eventually.

Zoey Is A Ziggy!
I was so sure the black kitten was a girl.....nope, it's a little boy! It's the SWEETEST little boy! Reminds me so much of Saylor, she was such a sweetheart (and still is). The vet estimated his age to be around 5-6 months old. Did someone dump him? Usually by that age with no human socialization, a cat is feral --not Ziggy! Oh the mysteries..... His future is still uncertain, but what I know for sure is, he will be safe in our home from Hurricane Earl.

Maggie May likes to watch over him and they talk back and forth.
How happy am I that Gretchen is in the house and we don't have to worry about her! I think she's pretty happy about it too :)
And of course, we still have Sweetie and she is doing wonderfully! She is eating like crazy and craves constant attention. If you don't give it to her, she gives you "the paw!"
Please keep us and everyone in Earl's possible path in your thoughts. Of course, I am worrying myself to death of the feral cats, but I am thinking positive thoughts that they will find substantial shelter.
Earl has me a bit concerned, he's a biggie and he's getting close! The weather people say he is going to take a turn to the East and we pray he does because he is a CAT 4 system with winds of 135mph.
We are in the yellow circle, may need to biggify.

Wordy Wednesday - Saylor's Doppleganger
I'm going to try to make her my "office cat" at work. We'll see how that goes over with my boss. She is very sweet and rolls around and meows a lot when I visit her. I may put the trail camera out to see if momma kitty ever shows up at night.

Sweetie
This picture is worth 1000 words....... On Friday, Sweetie started eating a little on her own. By Sunday, I couldn't feed her enough! She has a wonderful appetite now and her cold is getting better. She still has a runny eye and her nose is a little runny, but nothing like it was. I credit the nebulizer for making her cold better. I purchased supplies to make my own nebulizer for future shelter fosters.
Shea and Butters left for the VA rescue on Saturday. We really miss them.

Reminiscing on Thursday
I was looking through old photos and came across these. These pictures are from our old house. I loved that house. It was built in the 70's and had the coolest retro stove. The house was small, only a two-bedroom, but the rent was only $400.00 per month. We did a lot of work to the house, painting, new floors, removing the orange shag carpeting--yikes! Things seemed so much simpler then. No mortgage, no property taxes, no insurance......those were the days :)
He's the niece, Kayla, dressed up as Dorthy, in front of my retro bistro sets. I decorated my kitchen like a 50's diner. Still have the bistro set, but needed something bigger for the new house, so we stored it.
Here's Kayla again, this time dressed up as Shirley Temple. You can kinda see the retro stove. The oven didn't work well at all and I would either burn everything or undercook. But it looked sooooo cool!

This is our beloved Cal picking out paint colors for our new house. He actually chose the "Spring Bud" green color that adorns our living room, kitchen, hallway and loft. Without his help, the walls would probably still be "contractor white." I had looked at so many paint samples by that point, my head was spinning. He was a big help.

Here's Maya lounging in a sea of plastic bags. He was around 5 years old in that photo.

This was our beloved Sylvester. He was probably about 4 years old in this photo. He loved to lounge in the window perch and watch the birds and squirrels eat from the feeder. He died suddenly about a year after we moved to The Creek. He was only 6 years old.
