Chevelle Has Left for the Rainbow Bridge

Anna Chevelle
May 01, 2000 - July 03, 2012

I've been dreading this post since we found out last week that Chevelle had cancer. She had been completely normal until June 22 when she suddenly stopped eating. We brought her to the vet on June 25th and after labs, x-rays and an ultrasound, she was diagnosed with masses in her liver and abdomen. Nothing could be done and we were sent home with anti-nausea and pain meds. We had been assit-feeding ever since, hoping she would regain her appetite at least to stay with us a little while longer....that, unfortunately, never happened. One of the hardest decisions of our lives..... We had to let her go to be at peace and pain free. She left us this morning. She is now reuniting with Cal and that gives me comfort.

Since the diagnosis, we'd spend as much time outside as possible. When she was outside; walking through the grass, rolling around on the concrete, she was the happiest.

I'll love you forever, I'll miss you for always.

As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be.

I am so very sorry to hear this. So very very quick indeed.

One blessing about knowing the end is coming is that precious time you have enjoying what you have. Em wanted to spend time outside as well at her end, and all these years later I remember that fondly.

May time ease the pain and make the sweet memories stronger then the tears.

Chevelle's story is the same as my Lautrec's story was...6 months later....exactly the same way and loved, surely, exactly the same! Brings so many tears to my eyes to read your story and see the parallel with mine..ours...The only comfort is knowing that they no longer suffer. I just hope that one day I will have him in my arms again when I am also 'over there'. Until then, we love their memory, their spirit and we continue to love and talk to them. At least I know I do. A huge gaping emptiness in your heart. I believe that my Lautrec's spirit lead me to our new baby who is so adorable...your Chevelle, too will lead a new baby to you, surely. Sending you warm, loving thoughts. Purrs and woofs from Weezdabadcats and Dameendawgs

Mario's mom here - I'm so very sorry for you loss. Getting a diagnosis like that out of the blue and then having to make decisions is a horrible thing to go through. But I hope you find some comfort in knowing you gave Chevelle a loving, caring, final gift by helping her cross the bridge so she would not have to suffer. A big Hug to her human(s). We know how difficult it is to make those decisions.

I'm so very sorry and saddened by this news. These past two or three weeks, it seems like so many blogs I visit and enjoy have had to go through this same devastating heartbreak. Your Anna Chevelle was such a beautiful, beautiful cat - she looks so much like our Phillo. I held him close to me much longer than he usually 'allows' me to - I think he sensed that a 'fur sister' of his - even though they've never met - had passed over to the Bridge, and he was trying to let me know that your Anna Chevelle is no longer in any pain, no longer suffering, and that she knows how much she was so very loved by you.

I will light a candle for you, and one for Anna Chevelle, to help her find her way to the Bridge, where she'll be running free, happy, healthy.

My condolences for your loss. Take care of yourself - I know how painful this is, as do all of us who've lost our beloved furbabies.
