Yesterday I did a post about Gretchen's hurt paw, but I accidentally called her Necklace. Necklace was her name when she was in her feral colony. I've been in such a tizzy with this storm, I don't know where my head is! Anyhoo, Gretchen's vet appointment went very well. The vet said she does indeed have a nailbed infection. She was given Convenia (antibiotic) and Vetalog (anti-inflammatory) injections. She should be good as new in a few days! Yay!
Still watching Irene and it looks like we may take a direct hit, but hopefully at a cat 2. I think we'll be pretty safe here in our home. It's on land that is 6ft above sea level and our house is on pilings, 10 feet off the ground. However, there is still a little time left to decide for sure if we're staying put. If we go, all the furries will be going with us for sure! We're praying for all of our friends in the path of this dangerous storm!
I'll try to tweet updates as much as possible, so be sure to follow us @thecreekcats!

We're purring for Gretchen. Mom says Ellie had the Convenia shot a couple of weeks ago and it helped her URI. It also made her a big groggy and off her noms for a couple of days.
Stay safe! Even a Cat 2 can be troublesome.
