The lady bought an old real wood desk at the TNR yard sale for 10 bucks. Most people would maybe sand it, refinish with stain and stick some new hardware on, right? Well, not our crazy servant lady, oh no! For those of you who shutter at the thought of paint touching good wood, be sure to look away, for you've been warned!

Over the weekend she commited the crime of painting real wood. She now pleads temporary insanity stating she was greif-stricken, so we're letting her off easy. No need to adjust the color settings on your monitor........ it really is hot pink. It's now her art desk in the loft. All we can say is, at least it's not downstairs in the living room for all to see.
Thanks to everyone again for the outpouring of purrs we've received. We are so touched and they are all appreciated.

That is a very happy desk...hopefully soon to be covered with cat fur! My dad would freak if he saw it though so mom and I will tell him to look away.

The desk is amazing! You definitely made it ten times better than the original. I also love the retro art on the walls. Perhaps you could come help my human pet gain some decorating sense for our house!

My mommy would have done just what your mommy did! Paint it whatever color you want! I'm not a big pink fan cause I'm Mancat, but mommy loves what you did with it.

WE have lots, LOTS of wood in this house and the PM wants to add some colour so she is planning on painting some things too. It really isn't a sin, is it?

Oh, mom loves the desk too! She sez that in her opinion it's okay to paint wood specially when it's a beat up piece of furniture (not that the desk looks beat up). Watch HGTV...those designers are painting wood furniture all the time!
We think it is great for an art room! If it had gone anywhere else...it would have needed to be left as it was or painted a different color.

Our dad is a wood freak, so he would have dropped over in a dead faint at the thought of painting the desk. And you got some new hardware for it we see. Mom is an eclectic soul and thinks your desk is totally neat! Mom doesn't get to express herself much, by the way.

I like hot pink! My mom had a coffee table that was real wood... and she painted it. Her big human being brother didn't appreciate it!

Mom was wondering if the "squirt problem" in your house was maybe because of Cal? Surely all the others felt with him - and noticed that he was poorly... Maybe that's the reason...
Mom is still wondering what happened to Chilli. She examined the vomit for plant parts an there were absolutely none in it.
