Hello everyone!
Bad News: Yesterday was Rambler's Gotcha Day and it was also the day he was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. Sad day. He may also have a kidney infection because the vet said his kidneys were swollen or it could even be lymphoma. He was given fluids, mirtazapine (for appetite) and Convenia (antibiotic injection). He isn't eating very much, but he is eating. He's lost a lot of weight. We are taking it day by day. Tomorrow he goes back in for fluids and a recheck. After this appointment, I will probably be administering the fluids at home.
Please purr, pray, send vibes, etc... Thank you!
Good News: Saylor is doing great on her Prozac! Her fur is growing back in nicely... though it looks to be coming in gray. No fur, gray fur, black fur...she is still the most beautiful girl! I will try to get some updated photos of her to post soon.

And we're glad Saylor is doing better now.
We are sorry to hear this, and know from experience the sadness and worry this can bring. We know Rambler is in fantastic hands and will get all he needs. Renal failure can go up and down, and our paws are firmly crossed for him.

Did you get the Prozac from the vet. I have two cats that are very nervous and tear their hair out. Not as bad as Saylor though. Lots of good thoughts and prayers coming your way Rambler.

All the Woofies in my pack have their paws crossed and joined for Rambler. Feel better soon, buddy!
I'm very sorry Rambler has CRF. I've been giving our Tommie fluids twice a week for 8 months now. He lost 2 pounds and wasn't eating back then. He's eating well but still skinny now. Tanya's website on CRF is a wealth of information on handling the disease. There's no cure, but we can manage CRF.
Email if I can help.
Purrs,
Maggie
Sending and sharing our purrs, prayers and hugs.
The Tomcat Home has a purr-circle going for Rambler.

Purrs and loads of love headed your way, sweet Rambler!
Purring for Rambler. Chica went another year with daily fluids. What are you giving Rambler for the CRF? They are prone to kidney infections and bladder infections with CRF. Yoko got them often and had a serious one that took 4 weeks on strong antibiotics to get over. You might need to go that route if the injection doesn't help. Email me if you want to chat or would like more info on what I gave Yoko ad Chica for CRF.
